Profit & loss web app for a pharmacy

Starting point

The pharmacy kept its figures in several spreadsheets that had to be merged by hand on a regular basis. An up-to-date view of profit and loss was therefore always delayed. Formula errors and competing file versions made the numbers harder to trust. Off-the-shelf accounting software did not produce the reports the owners actually needed.

Solution

We built a lean web application for recording income and costs in a structured way. It calculates the profit and loss statement automatically and presents it in clear tables and charts. Periods can be compared side by side. All data sits in one place instead of scattered files.

Implementation

The backend runs on Python and Flask, with data stored in a SQLite database. The interface is built with JavaScript and designed around the pharmacy's day-to-day workflow. We defined the income and cost categories together with the client and migrated the existing data. Inputs are validated so typos do not creep into the reports.
